Congratulations to Our Synergy Shares Scholarship Recipients!

We’re proud to celebrate Rider, Briella, and Kaydence, who each earned their award by achieving top marks on our Synergy Shares Scholarship quiz.

Rider and Briella are recipients of the Synergy Shares Scholarship, while Kaydence is the winner of the Synergy Family Scholarship, awarded to immediate family of Synergy employees and Board members.

Wishing you all the best as you take the next steps in your journey!

Scholarship guidelines:

Application period:

The application period for the 2025 scholarships ran from April 1 to April 30, 2025.
Scholarship funds:
  • Recipients will receive $1000 annually (to a maximum of 4 years) to their Synergy Credit Union account upon annual proof of tuition payment and full-time enrollment.
  • Recipients will receive scholarship funds for the upcoming academic year. The scholarship is not retroactive and will not apply to the previous year. You must provide proof of tuition payment and verify full-time enrollment by December 31 of the award year. Failure to meet these requirements may result in forfeiture of the scholarship funds.
Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be:

  • An active member of Synergy Credit Union.
Not a member yet? No problem! You can apply for membership before submitting your scholarship application.
  • Enrolled to attend post-secondary schooling on a full-time basis. (This includes bachelor programs, diplomas, certificates, or trades.)
Previous Synergy Shares Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply again in 2025. However, we are incredibly proud of your achievements and can't wait to see the amazing things you'll continue to accomplish!

Synergy Credit Union employees and Board of Directors, along with their immediate family members, are ineligible for this scholarship. However, we offer a separate scholarship exclusively for them!
Notification and Celebration:
Winners will be notified no later than June 30, 2025. Additionally, we'll celebrate the achievements of scholarship recipients across our social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn), in our branches, on our website, and potentially through media coverage. Get ready for your moment in the spotlight!

Selection process:

At Synergy Credit Union, we believe in fostering meaningful connections with our applicants who share our values and vision. A crucial part of the application process is a brief and engaging 10-question multiple-choice quiz – no lengthy essays required! This quiz is designed to assess your knowledge in two key areas:

  1. About Synergy and Our Mission Statement
  2. The 7 Co-operative Principles

Completing this quiz, within the application form, is essential as it demonstrates your alignment with Synergy Credit Union's values and mission. Your performance on this quiz will play a significant role in our selection process.

Don't fret if you're unfamiliar with Synergy's mission or the 7 Co-operative Principles – all the necessary information to answer the questions accurately is provided in the links above. We believe that grasping these concepts is vital for aspiring leaders in our communities.

Should you have any inquiries about the Synergy Shares Scholarship program or the application process, please feel free to reach out to us. We're enthusiastic about assisting you in achieving your educational aspirations!
