2024 Synergy Shares Scholarships.

The application period has now closed, thank you to all participants for your submissions!

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be:

  • An active member of Synergy Credit Union.
Not a member yet? No problem! You can apply for membership before submitting your scholarship application.

  • Enrolled to attend post-secondary schooling on a full-time basis. (This includes bachelor programs, diplomas, certificates, or trades.)

If you are selected as one of the two recipients:

*$1,000 will be deposited annually (to a maximum of 4 years) to the recipients’ Synergy Credit Union account upon annual receipt of:
  • Proof of tuition payment. This can be a receipt of the funds paid.

  • Verification of full-time studies. This can be a letter of confirmation from the school registrar.

Selection process:

At Synergy Credit Union, we believe in fostering meaningful connections with our applicants who share our values and vision. To streamline the application process, we've crafted a brief and engaging 10-question multiple-choice quiz – no lengthy essays required! This quiz is designed to assess your knowledge in two key areas:

  1. About Synergy and Our Mission Statement
  2. The 7 Co-operative Principles

By completing this quiz, you'll demonstrate your alignment with Synergy Credit Union's values and mission.

Don't fret if you're unfamiliar with Synergy's mission or the 7 Co-operative Principles – all the necessary information to answer the questions accurately is provided in the links above. We believe that grasping these concepts is vital for aspiring leaders in our communities.

Should you have any inquiries about the Synergy Shares Scholarship program or the application process, please feel free to reach out to us. We're enthusiastic about assisting you in achieving your educational aspirations!

Scholarship guidelines:

We're excited to announce two scholarship opportunities for 2024! Don't miss your chance to apply and secure one of these valuable awards. We look forward to receiving your applications and celebrating the accomplishments of our future scholars!

Application Details:
The application period for the scholarship runs from April 1, 2024, to May 31, 2024. We're eager to review your submissions!
Scholarship Disbursement:
If you win the scholarship in June, it will be awarded for the upcoming academic year. Scholarships are not retroactive, so they won’t apply to the previous year. Provide proof of tuition payment and verify full-time enrollment by December 31 of the award year. Failure to meet these requirements may result in forfeiture of the scholarship funds.
Eligibility Criteria:

Synergy Credit Union employees and Board of Directors, along with their immediate family members, are ineligible for this scholarship. However, we offer a separate scholarship exclusively for them!

If you've previously been awarded a Synergy Shares Scholarship, you are not eligible to apply again in 2024. We eagerly anticipate witnessing your continued success!

Notification and Celebration:
Winners will be notified no later than June 30, 2024. Additionally, we'll celebrate the achievements of scholarship recipients across our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn), in our branches, on our website, and potentially through media coverage. Get ready for your moment in the spotlight!
