The sights and sounds of summer are ready to begin in Macklin with a boost to the local aquatic centre.
Synergy Credit Union is proud to become the new name sponsor of the Synergy Credit Union Aquatic Centre. The credit union has donated $40,000 to the aquatic centre and will be recognized with the naming rights to the building for the next decade.
The Macklin & District Aquatic Centre Inc. has been operating since July 2011. The facility has become a gathering hub in Macklin, drawing people locally and from other communities to enjoy. It provides an excellent family-oriented form of physical activity.
“Facilities like the aquatic centre improve the quality of life for all the residents in the community and surrounding area,” said Synergy Macklin Branch Manager Charlene Walz-Gette. “We’re excited for the opportunity to help in continuing to provide such a popular and important venue for the people who live here to socialize and be active.”
“We would like to thank Synergy for stepping up and helping us to continue to seamlessly provide programs and recreational activities for residents of all ages,” said Alicia Putz, of the Synergy Credit Union Aquatic Centre. “We are excited for the 2021 season and this gives us a great start as we head into the summer.”
The funding for the Synergy Credit Union Aquatic Centre is available through the Synergy Shares program, which provides funding for groups who improve the lives of residents in the communities Synergy serves.
