Dear members,

Like you, I am inundated with information about COVID-19. As the outbreak escalates, our board and executive team are taking further action in line with federal and provincial health official recommendations to ensure the safe working environment and wellbeing of our team members, their families and our community.

Please do not worry. Financial services are an essential service and Synergy will do what it needs to do in order to keep our services available to you. As more members hunker down, I anticipate reductions with in-branch traffic therefore, Synergy may reduce staffing levels accordingly. This may mean increased wait times for service if you attend the branch.

Additionally, Synergy anticipates more members using alternate channels of service like online banking and our Member Contact Centre. This is good; simply remember Synergy may experience increased volumes that could slow down those service channels. Please be patient with our team members as they are doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Last, a few members have concerns around the availability of cash. Good news, most merchants are asking their customers to refrain from using cash as it causes them operational concerns and could be a point of contamination. Please practice safe distancing and increased personal hygiene.

We have also introduced a frequently asked questions page, which will be updated consistently throughout this process at synergycu.ca.
