Update to Equifax Breach

According to theCanadian Press, "Equifax Canada's customer service agents are telling callers that only Canadians who have had dealings in the United States are likely to be affected by the massive hack announced last week."

If you are concerned about your information, The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada has recommended contacting Equifax, and the other Canadian credit monitoring company TransUnion, and asking them to place a fraud alert on your information. That way, if someone tries to apply for new credit, the companies will alert you first to ensure the transaction is legitimate. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
