Canada 150 Volunteer Challenge

Synergy Credit Union strives to be involved in the community.

To celebrate Canada 150, many events and initiatives are being planned across the country, creating opportunities for Canadians to participate in local, regional and national celebrations. One of the major initiatives of Canada 150 is a volunteer challenge. Synergy will join the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) and credit unions across Canada, in its own volunteer challenge: 150,000 volunteer hours invested in local communities across the country by year-end!

So far in 2017 we have volunteered 8,951 hours!

Last year, Synergy Credit Union staff volunteered more than 12,000 hours. As part of its commitment to our communities, Synergy encourages staff and board members to be involved. Staff have volunteer hours included in their overall performance goals and are able to complete them during work hours or after hours.

Synergy staff are passionate about being involved in our communities. Some of the groups/organizations that we have helped include:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • Citizens on Patrol
  • Vic Juba Community Theatre
  • Local 4-H clubs
  • Here Comes Santa Claus Day
  • Downtown Summer Streetfest
  • Colonial Days Parade
  • Maidstone Minor Ball Camp
  • Many more
